Hello?! Did these parents not read the directions and warning label posted right the toy package??? First off, if you had concerns, don't buy the toy!! Second of all, again, read the direction which are clearly labled all over the darn toy before giving it to little Susie, especially if she does have long hair! I have 3 children, ages 5 and up who love their Zhu-Zhu hamsters, take care of them, understand the rules with these toys, and want more of them! Don't blame Santa or a good, fun toy on your inability to read the directions and monitor your child until they understand their are rules in this world to keep us safe. Again, if you had READ the directions you would have understood how to turn the toy off.

Just spent the last half hour trying to get my daughters hair out of this horrible toy!! She was playing with it one min then the next I hear screams as it is twisted in her hair pulling and was pulling it out from the roots. She was screaming and crying and I was trying to find a way to turn it off but of course there is no way to turn it off, so it just kept on pulling more and more hair as I was trying to unwind it. I had to cut it out of her hair...oh and big bald spots on a 4 year old, not to mention the trauma that we both went through is reason enough for a recall. These things are HORRIBLE!!!

These things SHOULD be recalled. While trying to pry my daughter's hair out of the wheels...there was no way that I could find to turn the darn thing off and so it just kept winding as I was trying to pull her hair out. I ended up using my finger to keep the wheels from turning more of her hair in and then it started sucking my fingers in. We finally had to cut her hair loose (nice for Christmas pictures) and throw the toy away. Yeah, a santa gift thrown away ON Christmas afternoon. Imagine the horror in my house!

That picture of the empty shelf elicits a much different reaction from me: it reminds me of the Walmart store immediately prior to the 2005 hurricane evacuation. I see empty department store shelves and that's what comes to mind.
