Maybe it's just my cynical nature... but is a security checkpoint really such a good idea? Who goes through one of those things and thinks "I wish I could re-live this every day in my living room". I know a lot of the folks wh oread this steer their kids away from harsh television, but slip up once, and your 4-year-old is cavity searching toys. The rest of it is awesome, especially for the child who loves airplanes.

Deanna, the Playmobil Security Checkpoint is 100% real and from a 2003 collection that is out of print unfortunately. That link points to the only seller on Amazon who listed it as in stock.

If you really want one, check eBay every couple of days, they pop up now and again and do appear to sell for $40-$50 each.

You would think that after 50 years toys would have changed dramatically, but really
they haven't changed that much. At age 61, I still see more enjoyment in the younger toddlers with the lincoln logs, building blocks and 'legos that I had as a child

I'm not sure the airport security checkpoint is real -- the comments on that item are a must read for a good laugh but when I tried to put it in my cart it made me think it was a fake.

How cute. The toy industry thinks of everything. Yet what we all know kids play with the most is the boxes, go figure!

My favorite Playmobile set is here:
http://www.16bit.com/playmobil-5504-hobo.asp

Yes, it's a play set consisting of a policeman harassing a homeless man. Fun for all!
