I love gardening. But as I stay in an apartment, I had to do away with many of my plants. And then a few months back, I started gardening at home so that my son Umar understands nature well.
I asked a local guy to make an iron stand and now have about 20 plants. Each morning, I show Umar how each plant has grown. I make him smell the flowers, see their colours and how they are growing. He likes it a lot. These days its raining, but otherwise we both used water the plants together. I tell him that he is supposed to plant the small plants slowly else they wil get hurt etc.
He loves doing this and I suppose he'll be really excited if I get him his own garden tools. Nice blog. Keep it going...
And do visit mine at:-

I love the idea of of having little ones share in gardening activities. There is no better way than "hands on" when it comes to teaching kids.

Excellent!

I am an avid gardener and I often have my neighbors kids over to plant seeds. They love sunflowers especially and later in the season they love to come over and taste test the veggies & herbs. Never can start them too young!

It's good thing to teach children about the importance of preserving nature, and one way to do it effectively is by teaching them one or two things about gardening.
