yes, sticking attractive posters around the potty area can keep your child glued up to the potty chair till he/she is finished with it. This worked for my baby really well as earlier he used to make me run around every time he went for potty!

More than reading books, patience is the key to successful potty training. Yes, of course books guide us a lot but we have to try ti our self on our kids
