I never had this book as a child, but Mrs TR did and it was one of her favorites. Everyone has a bad day every once in a while, and Alexander here has a pretty terrible one.
It’s a frequent request by the Boys at bedtime and a great lesson on how sometimes life stinks but tomorrow will be a better day (even in Australia).
It’s something every parent should have on the bookshelf to pull out at the end of those especially hard days and let your child relate to the fact that some days gum does get stuck in your hair.
